2010 Calico Trail Run Interesting Tid-Bits Patricia Devita turned 76 on race day and won her division (70+) in 9:21:20 Married couple Michele (30-39) and David Bauer (40-49) finished together in 9:28:18 Hayward Crowder (60-69) Finished last in 9:43:11 The official cutoff time for the race is 9 hours. These five runners refused to quit and be picked up by Desert Rescue, who followed them the last 5 miles. They and the race officials respected their request and stayed to see and cheer them all at the finish. The race is run entirely by volunteers since the first race in 2005. All proceeds go to the Discovery Trails a non-profit organization supporting The Desert Discovery Center at 831 Barstow Road educating youth and the preservation of the Mojave Desert. Special thanks have to go out to the Barstow 4 Wheelers who man the six aid stations along the course for whom this race could not be run. Also to the Barstow Desert Rescue Team from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Every year more comments are made about how friendly, supportive and well stocked the aid stations and on-course volunteers are above all other races.
